Story of Mosaic Words

Well, the idea of starting Mosaic Words came to me, on an evening of August 2023. And the idea kept exciting me. My journey into the world of Green literature started when my mother gifted me the book Bird Business, written by Rohan Chakravarty. founder of Green Humor, for my fortieth birthday. And one day while reading my usual sunday newspaper, I came across an advertisement for a publishing course by NBT,  National Book Trust of India. My learnings  under guidance of Mr Rubin DCruz who gathered many experienced and stalwarts in publishing to teach us, helped me gain insights into this industry.

I also did a short course on children book writing by Karadi Tales conducted by one and only Shobha. It was followed with a once in a life time opportunity to intern with Richa Jha, founder of Pickle Yolk Books, and the experience has been invaluable. As the course came to an end, I got excited to apply all my learnings, knowledge and experience in creating the website for Mosaic Words. My ever helpful colleague, Yogesh helped me immensely. An intensive search of various platforms helped me meet Ranjana, founder of VIVE studios. And she agreed to put up with me, and with lot of deliberations and all things creative we were both able to finally come up with the logo and vision of our publishing company.

I am very excited and grateful for the journey into the world of Green Literature. And I hope I will be able to provide stories to raise our collective consciousness with fun, satire, knowledge for children of all age groups. I hope that together with awareness we are able to do our bit to save, preserve and enrich the planet we inhabit with million other species. Its a beautiful world, lets explore it together and leave its richness for generations to come..

I am ever thankful to my son Neeal, and my daughter Maisha who have themselves chosen their positions in Mosaic Words. Maisha would want to head amusement department, while Neeal is serious about heading the marketing department. My husband, Ravi with a generous heart and some mild threat agreed to finance this dream of mine, and my parents, Dr. Neelaksh Sharma and Dr. Manju Sharma blessings and enthusiasm drives me to see it through. My sister, Mahak lends her ear to me now and then and keeps me centered. And the most thankful I am to all the species of this beautiful world, the birds, the trees, the butterflies, the wilderness, the flowers, the insects, our mother earth who through all the havocs of creation of universe have kept the planet breathing and brimming with life. Thank you almighty in all your forms, and in all of us.
